A dish that always works – and never gets boring. These chicken breast fillets in homemade tomato sauce are one of my personal kitchen favorites. The combination of juicy meat, flavorful sauce, and melted cheese is simply irresistible. I love how the golden mozzarella melts over the fillets and blends into the sauce – it not only looks delicious, it tastes just as good.
What makes this recipe truly special is the base: my slow-cooked tomato sauce. It does take some time to prepare fresh, but the flavor is absolutely worth it. I usually make a large batch and freeze it in portions – that way, I always have a quick and wholesome option on hand during the week.
The instructions for my homemade tomato sauce are included in the Piccata Milanese recipe.
The side dishes are flexible too: rice, pasta, a crisp green salad, or crusty baguette – whatever you’re in the mood for. Whether you're going for something light or heartier, this dish can easily be adapted.
For me, this recipe is just right when I want to bring joy to the table with minimal effort. It’s simple, versatile, and always a hit – whether with the family during the week or when unexpected guests drop by.
