Arrival by Water Taxi – a Magical Start
Arriving already feels like an experience: taking a water taxi right up to the hotel is like stepping into another world. The atmosphere is hard to put into words – simply magical. Even more special was sharing this moment with friends.
A Warm Welcome with Style
From the very first moment, you can feel the distinctive touch of The St. Regis Venice. Warmth, professionalism, and a true sense of being welcome accompany you right from the start. The charm of the house continues seamlessly as soon as you step inside.
A Place to Linger
At The St. Regis Venice there was a kind of lobby that looked absolutely breathtaking. Fresh flowers were everywhere, filling the space with their fragrance – simply stunning. I often walked through just to take in the scent and let the view sink in.
Tasteful in Every Detail
The entire hotel is elegantly furnished and designed with great attention to detail. The rooms are modern yet cozy – you feel at home right away.
I was particularly impressed by the spacious bathroom with the huge shower, a real shower experience.
Even though our view of the Grand Canal was a bit limited, it was still wonderful to soak it all in from the room and watch the many cheerful people passing by on the water taxis.
Service the Way It Should Be
Every single member of the team – without exception – was incredibly attentive and courteous. You immediately sense that everyone here is dedicated to making each guest’s stay truly special.
A Place for Movement and Relaxation
The hotel even has a fitness room. It was a little dark for my taste, but it's still something special to be able to work out in Venice at all - and your body will definitely thank you for it.
I only took a quick look at the spa – a small but lovely space, perfect for a short break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Breakfast with a View of the Grand Canal
The breakfast area is a dream – with a direct view of the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
I kept it simple with a fresh ginger tea and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice – my husband had a coffee and also an orange juice. Everything was served with a smile, and the staff even insisted we shouldn’t pay for it since we hadn’t ordered a “proper” breakfast. A gesture that shows what true hospitality means and how special it is to start the morning with this view.
An Evening at GIO’S
Dinner at the in-house restaurant GIO’S was truly delightful. Our waitress Maria looked after us with great care throughout the evening. With the view of the water, the romantic atmosphere in the restaurant, and an evening shared with friends, it turned into a moment we genuinely enjoyed.
A Drink at the Arts Bar
The Arts Bar at The St. Regis Venice was a real highlight for us. Having a glass before dinner and another one afterwards quickly became a little ritual we loved. The stylish setting and the creative drinks made every visit feel special.

The St. Regis Bar also won us over. With its own charm, it was the perfect place to round off the evening. Just like everywhere else in the hotel, it carried that special flair that made the stay feel so harmonious.
Farewell on the Ginori Terrace
On the day of our departure, my husband and I spent a few easy-going hours on the Ginori Terrace of the hotel. With the sun shining, we had a leisurely lunch and once more savored the unique setting. It was the perfect ending to our stay, and we felt thankful to have shared these two days here with our friends.
My Final Thoughts
Our two nights at The St. Regis Venice were simply wonderful. An elegant hotel with heart, excellent service, and that one-of-a-kind location on the Grand Canal. Whether at the bar, over lunch, at breakfast, or during dinner – the view of the Grand Canal and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute is always impressive and truly unique. A setting that makes this hotel stand out. If you want to experience Venice at its very best, this is the place to be.
And one more tip: September and October are fantastic months to visit Venice – with pleasant weather, fewer crowds than in the peak summer, and a truly special energy in the city. We truly appreciated being able to stay here.
